In 2009, the relics of St. Therese of Lisieux made a pilgrimage around England and Wales. On 22nd September 2009, the relics arrived here at the Cathedral. The pilgrimage of the relics of St. Therese were a source of great grace. Archbishop Vincent Nichols said during the autumn meeting of the Bishops’ Conference that the pilgrimage of the relics “demonstrated very clearly that within our society that the pulse of the religious faith is still pretty strong”.
