The public celebration of Mass will return to Cardiff Cathedral this weekend – 25/26th July 2020, after 127 days. This is such a blessing for our Cathedral community and for our Archdiocese. Even though Mass returns to the Cathedral, things are far from being back to normal; this will take some time. Please be aware that things are not going back to how they were before the lockdown. We can never go backward, but always forward.
Please be aware that Mass times will be different to the normal weekend schedule. This is to ensure that the Cathedral can be appropriately cleaned and sanitised after the celebration of Mass, and that there is scope to add additional Masses into the schedule should the need arise. The Cathedral has a maximum of thirty-four spaces for individuals/bubbles in the Cathedral in order to maintain the two metre social distancing regulations set down by the Welsh Government. The Cathedral will operate on a first-come-first-serve basis until the capacity has been reached. Full details are available to read here.
